Foundations of Trading: Developing Profitable Trading Systems using Scientific Techniques - by Howard Bandy
2016, 170 pages, by Howard Bandy
It is a pretty honest book about trading systems and you developing your own. This book is a genuine roadmap to understand and direct your efforts in a correct way to build trading systems based on the new techniques being currently applied in the finance area (this book is from 2016).
It is a short book (170 pages) but is pretty complete. The first chapter leads you through the various aspects of analysis, data models, development process (theory), position-sizing, and more. The second chapter is fully dedicated to Risk Management. In Chapter 3 you will learn about Models and Premises, and guide you to understand how to build a model through observation, generate hypotheses, understand the reality of data and indicators.
Obviously, since this is a 170-page book it will not turn you into a programmer or a Data Scientist or anything like that, but all the paths to understanding how a Trading System is built are there.
And, at least by the writing of this post, this book is nicely priced on Amazon.
